Indiana's water damage risk is closely tied to its river systems, including the Wabash and White Rivers, which can rise quickly after heavy spring rainfall. The state experienced widespread flooding in June 2008, when persistent heavy rain caused rivers across much of Indiana to reach record or near record levels.
